Vitamin B12 and Diabetes Treatment - What You Must Know

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

If you are a diabetic and have been taking metformin for at least one year, you need to check your b12 level. There is an associated risk of b12 deficiency. This does not mean you stop taking your metformin. Metformin is an excellent diabetic medication that can effectively and safely manage your type 2 diabetes. It has an excellent safety record.

The mechanism for the possible lower b12 level is decreased absorption. Calcium malabsorption (poor absorption) may also contribute. It has been shown that calcium supplementation may help to decrease the induced b12 malabsorption. Just how common this is in not known. Research is underway regarding the clinical or medical significance.

It is recommended that you have a b12 (cobalamin) level checked once per year when taking metformin. If your level is low, then discuss b12 supplementation with your healthcare provider. A quality sublingual supplement is usually adequate. This supplement should include the B complex vitamins such as B1 (Thiamin), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacin), and B6 (Pyridoxine) which are necessary for good absorption of B12. Folate is also a necessary ingredient of a quality supplement.

If calcium supplementation is recommended, consider taking a quality / certified pure coral calcium supplement. Certified pure means that correct methods of harvesting the calcium from coral have been followed and the unsafe heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and aluminum have been removed.

Diabetes - Glucose Treatment - The Newest Miracle for Diabetes

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

There is no cure or any specific treatment for diabetes. The best thing that you can do is to control it. Complications and severe attacks caused by the disease can be prevented with proper management of medications and diet programs. Before talking about glucose treatment and what its benefits are, it is best to know all the other treatments available for the treatment of diabetics.

Many studies and research have been done to study the effects of the disease in an attempt to totally eradicate it. The closest one can get to being free from this illness is to undergo a pancreatic transplant but this is a last resort measure as diabetes can be controlled effectively.

There is a vast range of diabetes pills on the market today. Examples are: Sulfonylureas (which helps in stimulating your pancreas to create insulin); Biguanides (which decreases the glucose that is produced by your liver); Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (these slow down starch absorption); Thiazolidinediones (this medicine helps you become more receptive to insulin); Meglitinides (much like the Sulfonylureas, they can stimulate the creation of insulin by your pancreas); D-phenylalanine derivatives (these do not only stimulate but hasten the creation of insulin by the pancreas); Combination Oral Medicines (this simply means you put together varying types of pills for better results).

Now there’s glucose treatment. Glucose, to begin with, is a monosaccharide that can also be used to control blood sugar levels. This is an over-the-counter product that can be used by anyone, even pregnant or lactating women. This can be bought in gel or chewable tablet form. Oral glucose treatment has short-term effects. Upon an attack, it can help in stabilizing the patient. However, there is a form of glucose treatment that can produce long-term effects.

The latest study for the treatment of diabetes is the so-called glucose treatment, sometimes called glucose therapy. The goal of this study is to know whether neonatal infusion of glucose would have a positive influence on patients. Glucose treatment was primarily tested among lab rats to see if it could help alleviate the effects of diabetes.

The initial tests done with the lab rats showed promising results. First, there were thirty-nine rats that had to undergo this experiment. Nineteen of these rats were male and the rest (20) were all females. This group served as the experimental group. The objective was, for the rats’ first six days of life, they would be injected twice in a day with 8 grams of glucose/kilogram BW/day. There was also a second group of rats that served as the control group (20 male rats and 16 female rats). They, unlike the first group, remained untreated.

The result? After the 6 experimental days, 16% of the treated males became diabetics as compared to the staggering 50% among the ones who were not infused with glucose. As with the females, 50% of the treated females acquired diabetes as compared to the 69% of the untreated batch. With this data, it was concluded that glucose treatment could be very valuable and could help reduce diabetes in humans. And, of course, humans were next to be tested. The scientists wanted to conclude that glucose treatment could also be beneficial to humans.

With the human study, glucose infusion was done, not with injections, but through IV’s. One woman was reported to have stated that before the glucose treatments, she spent countless days and months in the hospital. She said that she never had a social life because her disease prevented her from living a normal life.

With this same subject, she reported that there was even a time when she was hospitalized for a total of 30 times within just 3 months! This would definitely drive anyone to try all the types of available treatments there is.

This patient’s treatment included having home infusions but she did not mind. When she stuck with her regular glucose treatment, improvement soon became evident. She had an improved disposition and had no more acute attacks. To add to that, she has not been hospitalized since she underwent the glucose treatment! It was, for her, a chance for a new life.

Diabetes and glucose treatment is nothing but good news to all diabetics. Maybe this is the beginning of an era where diabetes is no longer untreatable.

Diabetes Treatment - The Drugs Used for Treatment

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

Diabetes or Diabetes Milletus is a situation wherein the body is incapable of handling sugar thus resulting in frequent urination, thirst and tiredness. Your doctor will prescribe a certain drug regimen once you are diagnosed with having diabetes.

A customary medical treatment will call for a drug to lessen the effect of diabetes. The treatment relies on the kind of diabetes which can be:

- Type 1 wherein the body cannot produce insulin and insulin replacement is transported to the body by pump or injection. Diabetics under type 1 is classified as insulin dependent.

- Type 2 wherein patients are able to control their glucose level and treatment plan. Some patients will also need insulin injection but generally diet, exercise and some oral medications are sufficient.

1. Insulin for Type 1 diabetics is a protein substance which is injected to the body to be effective. There is insulin which can be taken orally and is broken down during digestion. In the US there are 20 diverse kinds of insulin; nowadays, replacements for insulin injection are giving promising results.

Insulin is classified according to: how rapid it takes to effect in the body or ‘onset’, the time when its effect is very high and for how long is it effective.

The dosages and types of insulin to be used will depend on the blood glucose level of the body. For patients who need long acting insulin, they should take Insulin Zinc Extended, patients needing short acting insulin should take Insulin Regular and those who need very long acting should take in Insulin Glargine.

2. Oral medications on the other hand are used as treatment for diabetics under Type 2. Some of the drugs prescribed for the treatment of Type 2 diabetics are:

- Miglitol and Acarbose which are Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. They delay the glucose absorption and slow down the digestion of carbohydrates. They also decrease the boost of blood glucose levels after meals.

- Sulfonylureas which stimulates the pancreas to give off more insulin. There are 1st generation sulfonylureas such as Chlorpropamide and Tolbutamide. Examples of 2nd generation sulfonylureas are Glyburide and Glimepiride.

- Biguanides which reduces the glucose amount that is being produced by liver. Metformin is the common drug under this class. Metformin is more useful for obese diabetics because it can diminish the excretion of glucose and it also suppresses appetite.

- Combination of Sulfonylurea and Biguanide which became available just recently. Before, patients are taking these two drugs separately; nowadays, one tablet with the combination of these drugs is effective in encouraging patient’s compliance. Metformin and Glyburide are common examples of these drugs.

- Meglitinides stimulates insulin release after having a meal. Drugs under this class are Nateglinide and Repaglinide.

- Thiazolidinediones or glitazones is a recently released drug which increases sensitivity to insulin. Drugs under this category are Rosiglitazone and Pioglitazone

- Glucobay is also a new drug. It breaks down carbohydrates into monosaccharide for easy absorption of the small intestine thus reducing the rise of sugar levels.

Diabetes can be dangerous and can lead to more serious illnesses but can be combated nowadays. Different diabetics need different levels of treatment. It is always better to consult a professional doctor to know what drug will best suit your needs.

Discover The Symptoms and Treatment of Diabetes

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

When it comes to a disease like diabetes, it seems as if everyone is an expert, but before you make decisions based on non-medical people’s opinions, make sure you have your facts straight.

In general, the classic and typical symptoms of diabetes are weakness, fatigue, blurred vision, weight loss, thirst, frequent urination, and a larger-than-normal desire to eat. Not all diabetes patients exhibit all of these signs. In fact, rarely do any of them exhibit ALL of these signs, but when you see any of these signs, you may want to consider seeing your doctor and have it checked. Like almost any other ailment, early diagnosis of diabetes provides your best chance of beating it.

It is both interesting and alarming to note that many diabetics have virtually no symptoms of the ailment or the symptoms are so mild that they thought nothing of it. This presents a problem, because you don’t want to go running off to the doctor every time you are thirsty or lose a few pounds (two of the symptoms listed above), but then again, you need to be aware of what is normal for you, and for diabetes symptoms that persist, you should see your doctor.

With type 1 diabetes, the patient can become very suddenly ill with little warning signs, and this may even require hospitalization. The sad truth is that since some diabetics do not exhibit symptoms or have very mild symptoms, many of them have diabetes that is undiagnosed for years. Studies seem to indicate that almost HALF of the millions of people who have diabetes are unaware of it, and because of this, doctors frequently see the situation where people already have diabetes-related organ damage by the time they are first diagnosed with diabetes.

The treatment of diabetes involves multiple things, primarily to eliminate the signs of high blood sugars. This helps to alleviate any long term complications that can result and allows the patient to live as normal a life as possible, depending of course of the severity of the affliction. But since no two diabetics are alike, the treatment really needs to be tailored to the specific person and their specific level of severity in order for the treatment to be as effective as possible.

The biggest and most effective treatment of diabetes consists of exercise and proper nutrition. Those are also the biggest defense against diabetes if you do not have it. For type 1 diabetes, they need to regulate their insulin shot or intake with their calorie intake to ensure they are balanced properly. For the type 2 diabetes patient, their diet should consist of low saturated fat and also portion control. Typically, type 2 diabetes patients should lose a few pounds, and this treatment will help to decrease blood sugars and allow then to shed a few extra pounds.

Studies have shown that approximately 75% of diabetics die of heart disease, stroke, or other types of circulatory problems. Therefore, part of the diabetes treatment should also include quitting smoking, maintaining good blood pressure readings, and having your cholesterol checked regularly to keep it under control. Aggressively lowering of your cholesterol level, especially the "bad" LDL cholesterol will aid greatly by decreasing the chance of stroke, heart disease, and other circulatory problems that can be triggered by high cholesterol. Under the direction of your doctor, heart tests should also be done on a regular basis.

Do not make decisions in the dark, however. Diabetes is a serious disease, and make sure whatever treatments you do, they are done with your doctor’s knowledge and recommendations.

Alternative Treatment for Diabetes

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you may be more interested in alternative (i.e., natural) treatment instead of traditional (i.e., chemical) treatment. In many cases, with Type 2 diabetes, no medication is even needed, as blood sugar levels can be controlled with a proper diet.

With that said, there are many natural treatments that can help to get blood sugar levels back in the normal range. There are three supplements that reportedly help. They include chromium, magnesium, and vanadium. Discuss all three of these supplements with your doctor before taking them.

Many natural foods also help with blood sugar control in Type 2 diabetes. These include sage, buckwheat, okra, peas, brewer’s yeast, fenugreek seeds, and broccoli and other greens. These foods help because they are high in fiber. Certain herbs also reportedly help, including hawthorn, nettle, ginger, ginseng, and garlic.

For diabetic weight control, consider chromium, germander, aristolochic acid, chitosan, pyruvate, sauropus andogynus, hydroxycitric acid, and momordica charanta.

Aside from these natural products, other potential treatment for diabetes includes aromatherapy, relaxation, herbal remedies, massage therapy, hypnosis, yoga, chiropractic treatments, and acupuncture. It is vital that you discuss any alternative treatment that you wish to try with your medical doctor. You would be surprised to learn that many doctors are big believers in natural treatments as well.

Again, do not take any alternative substances or treatments without discussing them with your doctor. You should also avoid treatments that involve more than one herb at a time, and don’t buy into the hype. Many less than scrupulous product makers make outrageous claims. Make sure that you stick with products that have scientific data to back them up.

If you experience any side effects with your alternative treatment, discontinue it immediately and contact your doctor. Make sure that you track everything that you put in your body, so that he knows how to best treat your diabetic condition, as well as the side effects that you are experiencing.

New Treatment For Diabetes - The One Every Diabetic is Waiting For?

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

New treatment for diabetes may be the next stage after the results of a study led by Joslin appeared in The Journal of Clinical Investigation. This brings us hope for a possible new treatment for diabetes. This study found that leptin plays an important part in the growth of islet cells and the secretion of insulin.

Just what is leptin? It is that hormone known mostly for regulating appetite management and energy metabolism. Leptin receptors found throughout the body, counting the brain and the pancreas, act as a go-between in the inhibition of the secretion of insulin.

Leptin is a protein hormone that affects the regulation of the body weight, metabolism and reproductive function. Recent researches with obese and the not obese participants showed a strong positive correlation of serum leptin concentrations with percentage of body fat. In truth, leptin supplies the body with a guide of nutritional standing.

This was established in previous studies. Rohit N. Kulkami, M.D., Ph.D who led this study, said that they wanted to understand better the role of leptin in the beta cells. Dr. Kulkami, who is an assistant professor at Harvard University Medical School, is also the main investigator at Joslin Diabetes Center.

So they wanted to investigate this because it is not known why obese people develop diabetes despite the high presence of both insulin and leptin in the bloodstream. They therefore developed a mouse model which they engineered genetically not to produce leptin receptors in the pancreas but they kept the ones in the brain and the rest of the body.

They found that those that did not have leptin receptors in the pancreas exhibited better glucose tolerance, more secretion of insulin and more beta cell growth. They expected this result as the normal job of the leptin is to maintain insulin levels so they don’t get too elevated.

In the next phase of the study, they fed both the mouse model and the control group with the leptin receptors, a high-fat diet. Both groups naturally became fat but herein lies the difference. The mouse model developed severe resistance to insulin and glucose intolerance which we know is a sign that diabetes is coming. What does this mean?

Researches will concentrate on the link between insulin and leptin and identify the proteins present in the pathways regulating the growth of beta cells and their activities. This could only help in the improvement of drugs that can control these proteins into affecting the growth and function of the beta cells. This will certainly have implication for the treatment of types 1 and 2 diabetes.

Hopefully, the next phase of the study is finding these proteins in natural sources in the food we eat which in my humble opinion will be better than developing therapeutic drugs. This will be easier to do than finding the link between leptin and the beta cells which is essential I know and is the more difficult stage of the process towards the finding a new treatment for diabetes.

Symptoms of Diabetes - Natural Treatment, a Simple and Effective Method

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

Diabetes is a complex metabolic disorder characterized by the presence of high blood sugar levels. Diabetes occurs both in adults and children and can result in multiple organ failure, if left untreated. On an average, 5% of world population is suffering with the signs of diabetes and several others are at the verge of acquiring the disease. In this regard, it is important to find effective treatment methods that can aid in reversing diabetes and its related symptoms. An interesting option is a symptoms of diabetes natural treatment.

Depending on the origin, diabetes can be broadly classified into three categories that include Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes. There is one more rare form that appears in children and is known as juvenile diabetes. In all these forms, symptoms and signs of diabetes are almost common. These include urge to urinate frequently, excessive thirst, tendency to consume too much food, unexplained weight loss, fatigue and blurred vision.

Interestingly, a symptoms of diabetes natural treatment is useful in reversing diabetes of any form. Below are mentioned some commonly used natural remedies for treatment:

  • Pranic Healing - This is one of the most mystic forms of treatment where the natural healing process present inherently inside the body is activated. In this form of treatment method, human body is considered as an energy storing device. In short, human body derives energy from the nature and stores it at certain focal points, also known as chakras. Whenever any ailment occurs, one of these chakras is unable to store or dispense energy. Treatment is done to revoke the mechanism.
  • Yogasanas - This is one of the most ancient forms of symptoms diabetes natural treatment that is indirectly based on pranic healing. In this method too, body’s internal protective and repair mechanism is activated using some properly structured breathing and stretching exercises, also called as asanas.
  • Balanced Diet Patterns - Symptoms diabetes 2 natural treatment also involves changes in diet patterns where care must be taken with respect to the type of foods being consumed and the time at which they are consumed. In diabetes, one must consume diet rich in protein and other nutrients, low in carbohydrates and less fat. Also, eat in small portions and distribute it throughout the day rather than consuming the entire amount at one time.
  • Foods that heal - Recent research reports have provided enough evidence about certain vegetables, fruits and herbs that can help in reversing diabetes and regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Some examples include vegetables such as bitter gourd, cabbage, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, carrot and beet, fruits such as oranges, apples, and banana, spices such as fenugreek, turmeric and cinnamon and herbs such as ginseng, ginko biloba and aloe vera. Even products from trees such as amla and neem are also an important symptoms diabetes natural treatment.

Apart from these, other alternative natural treatment options include magnet therapy and acupressure. Another important fact one must never forget is that it is important to make changes in the lifestyle for any treatment to be effective. Hence, follow a proper physical exercise regime. Also, remember to consult your physician frequently and monitor your blood glucose levels.

Type 1 - Characterized by the inability of the pancreas to secrete insulin, this is one of the most serious health complications occurring in humans. Beta cells present inside the pancreas are responsible for the secretion of insulin into the blood. Whenever the pancreas is attacked by virus or when the body secretes own antibodies against the pancreas, these beta cells get destroyed, thereby resulting in lack of insulin in the blood.

Type 2 - Cells on their surface have insulin receptors through which insulin attaches to the cells and signals glucose absorption. When these receptors get destroyed, cells no longer respond to insulin, thereby resulting in increased glucose concentration in the blood. This condition is known as type 2 diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes - This form of diabetes is similar to type 2 condition in several ways. The only difference is that signs of diabetes appear during the late stages of pregnancy in women.

Rare Form - Another form of diabetes that appears commonly in children is juvenile diabetes, a congenital disorder that occurs due to mutations and genetic irregularities.

By keeping this information in mind, you should have a greater understanding of how natural treatments can be used to help prevent and treat the symptoms of this terrible disease.

What You Should Do for Diabetes Treatment

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

Today, being diagnosed with diabetes does not mean what it used to. For many people, before more was learned about diabetes and how to best treat the condition, there weren’t many options. Today there are many types of diabetes treatment that may be suitable for you, some may include medication, while others may not.

The best thing for you to do is talk with your doctor. It may be possible to seek diabetes treatment without having to deal with injection and medication. It particularly depends on the type of diabetes you have, the causes, and your current status.

One diabetes treatment and prevention factor is diet and exercise. The habits you develop with regard to exercise and diet can dramatically improve diabetes, minimize complications, and control your blood sugar. The best thing about diet and exercise as a diabetes treatment is that it can also prevent diabetes in some cases as well.

By introducing a healthy diet to your lifestyle, you can control the levels of sugar in your blood, as well as take steps to prevent further complications from the condition. Obesity is one of the most common causes of developing diabetes. Losing weight can help in controlling the condition and living a better life. If you need help, your physician can recommend a program or dietitian to help you gain control over your eating habits.

Your diet should consist of regular balanced meals that contain little sugar, little saturated fat, and a great amount of healthy fiber. It is further important to keep the diet consistent. This means that you should be consuming about the same levels of calories throughout each day, this allows you to control your blood sugar and keep it at the appropriate level for your body.

Along with diet, exercise is important as well to diabetes treatment. Any form of regular exercise is great for your body and your diabetes. You should exercise at least three times weekly for twenty minutes each time. Walking, jogging, or other exercise is extremely beneficial. However, before starting any exercise program, you should first consult your physician for approval. Doing exercises could be detrimental to your health, if done inappropriately.

If you have trouble controlling your blood sugar levels with the above steps, your physician may need to take your diabetes treatment to the next level. There are various types of medication available to treat diabetes, which could include both oral and injection based medicine. Insulin is the only injection type of diabetes treatment used today. Typically, this is only used when insulin is no longer produced by the pancreas.

Other types of medication include Avandia, Actos, Prandin, Glyset, Precose, Glucophage, Micronase, and Glucotrol. All of these work in different ways to absorb, produce, or use insulin within the body.

It is important to your diabetes treatment to consistently monitor your blood sugar levels. You should check your blood before eating and before going to bed. The results should be recorded within a personal diabetes treatment logbook.

Not only should the results of your blood sugar level test be recorded, but you should also record various other things such as medication doses, what and when you have eaten during the day, how long and what times you exercised that day, and if you have had results too low or too high, then how they were treated.

Be involved in your diabetes treatment and take the necessary steps to ensure you live a long, high quality life, even with diabetes.

Diabetes Types and Natural Treatment - How One Can Help the Other

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

In normal conditions, glucose present inside the blood is absorbed by the cells, undergoes through a series of metabolic processes and releases energy that is essential for the normal functioning of every human cell. And for this entire process to happen, the cells have to respond to insulin, a hormone that is secreted by the pancreas and facilitates glucose absorption inside the human body. Whenever any disturbances occur in this process, it leads to hyperglycemia or presence of excess glucose in the blood, a condition that can be medically termed as diabetes.

Diabetes is one of the most commonly prevalent metabolic disorders that can become extremely complicated if left untreated. However, an important fact one must remember is that diabetes can be best controlled and effectively treated only when one is able to recognize the diabetes early signs. Some of these signs are listed below.

  • Diabetics suffer with the urge to urinate frequently, a symptom called as polyuria
  • Another important early sign of diabetes is extreme hunger where an individual suffers with uncontrollable tendency to eat anything that is available.
  • Also, individuals suffering with diabetes can never satiate their thirst. Due to this, these people tend to consume loads of water.
  • Other diabetes early signs include fatigue, abnormal weight loss even though one feeds heavily and irritable moods.
  • Some people even complain about blurred vision before they are diagnosed with diabetes.

Interestingly, a majority these diabetes early signs appear when the disease is in its naïve or early stages. However, many tend to ignore these signs because these are neither harmless nor very prominent. As a result of this, the disease gets aggravated to a stage where it needs be controlled using medications and insulin injections. Interestingly, out of all the available diabetes treatment methods available, the most effective safe alternative has been the diabetes types natural treatment.

Fighting diabetes types with natural treatment is one where natural remedies such as herbal products, plant derivatives, and other naturally-available elements are used for treating the symptoms of diabetes thru natural treatment. Some effective and commonly used diabetes types natural treatment methods are listed below.

  • Exercise regularly - An active and healthy lifestyle is essential for regulating excess glucose levels in the body. Apart from this, exercise helps your heart and other major organs of the body function normally.
  • Have a health diet - Persons suffering with diabetes experience severe protein loss. Hence, their diet must be rich in proteins, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients and must be low in carbohydrates and fats. Ensure that your diet contains fresh vegetables and fruits. Also, avoid processed foods, raw meat, unpasteurized milk, chocolates, ice-creams and sweets.
  • Also, symptoms diabetes natural treatment also involves usage of certain alternatives such as fenugreek seeds and leaves, bitter gourd juice, amla or the Indian gooseberry, neem and the leaves of holy basil. Apart from these, diabetes types natural treatment options that are have been found effective include consuming leaves or fruits of trees like jamun, and mango, spices such as cinnamon and clove, soybean, soaked almonds or black raisins or raw bananas.

Natural Diabetes Treatment

November 17th, 2008 diabetes Posted in diabetes treatments Comments Off

Since early times, diabetes has been treated naturally. It is only now with the advent of medical technologies that certain artificial medications are prescribed to fight diabetes.

Although there are some studies showing the use of herbs, oils and other plant products and by-products may help in the natural treatment of diabetes, never proceed without consulting your physician. Diabetes is a killer disease and you need experienced professional medical guidance at all times.

A. Fish oil, omega 3 oil, borage oil

Research shows that fatty acids are beneficial in improving cardiovascular complications related to diabetes. GLA or gamma linolenic acid is a fatty acid which is found to normalize and reduce the metabolism of faulty fatty acid that can aggravate the complication of diabetes.

Fish oil is being suggested to protect against diabetes. A 2002 study shows that 70% of overweight men who consume 1.8 grams of fish oil at breakfast have improvement in their insulin responses. It has also been found that a seafood diet can be an effective natural treatment for diabetes.

B. Hydrotherapy

This is the process of using water to treat diabetes. The ability of water to conduct and absorb heat can have useful effects to the human body. Among the benefits are reduction of blood sugar level, improved sleep and improve the well being and moral of diabetic.

C. Good Healthy Diet

Natural and raw foods can add up benefits to your body. Consuming healthy fruits and vegetables while sticking to natural regimen can cleanse the body.

D. Massage or Reflexology

Hands on therapy or massage can improve the well being and health of a person. Soft tissues and muscles are manipulated in this process which affects the circulatory, muscular and nervous systems of the body. Massage had since been used to treat diabetes and other diseases.

Some people may be comfortable with their drug medications but there are those who prefer the natural way of treating their illnesses. The term for the process of treating diabetes in natural ways is called naturopathy. Naturopathy consists of Herbal medicines. Recent investigations have scientifically established the efficacy of certain natural plants which may be effective, including balsam pear, bitter melon, garlic, onion, Asian ginseng, bilberry, the extract of ginkgo biloba, cinnamon and barberry.

Diabetics have always been advised that reduction of sugar intake is the best relief for their illness. This holds true especially with the usage of the natural treatments presented here.

Never proceed with a natural diabetes treatment without consulting your physician. Diabetes is a killer disease and you need experienced professional medical guidance at all times.
